Kell Stomp!

This Ensemble was created during the schools inaugeral year to help promote and recruit for the concert Percussion Ensemble (at the time there was only 1 percussionist and 5 wind players in the schools percussion ensemble).  That year, the ensemble performed one piece, ‘Trash Talk,’  (arr. by Rick Dietrich).  Since that time, both the concert Percussion Ensemble and Stomp Ensemble has grown to as many as 35 members and performs close to a three hour long concert entitled ‘The Night of Jazz and Percussion.’  This end of the year concert is a wonderful celebration of music that brings together percussion ensembles, Novelty Ensembles and Jazz Ensembles from each of the three schools in the Carlton J. Kell High School Cluster (Kell High, McCleskey Middle and Palmer Middle). 

Every year the ensemble adds one new piece to their repetoire.  This year, they will be performing a work entitled ‘The Exam’ written by John Eriksson.  Check out a performance of ‘The Exam’ on You Tube.
